I am a multi-instrumentalist and teacher. I play rock, blues, jazz, classical, acoustic guitar; bass guitar; ukulele; lute; banjo and mandolin. I am passionate about music of all periods and teaching to all ages. There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone achieve their goals, apart from possibly paying your bills as a result of your efforts!

I was inspired by hearing Narciso Yepes playing Villa-Lobos Prelude No 1 in E minor on my parents old 1/4 inch reel to reel tape deck, and I have fond memories of overhearing them listening to music late into the night. At least, it felt late, I was eleven!

I started on clarinet but gave that up quite quickly, then my mother let me use her guitar. I still have it hanging on my wall! They must have been sick of hearing me play boogie woogie bass lines in E! It took weeks before I realised there were more chords!

I have a website, but it works better on a PC, hence the blog.  The address is http://www.wix.com/slowchange/Phat-guitar.  I have a YouTube channel as well,

My listening tastes vary but I enjoy music from Plain Chant to modern jazz via most things in between.  I have a particular passion for classical music, acoustic guitar and prog rock of the seventies, until Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree came along!
